Metapad is a decentralized KYC and smart contract review platform designed to address common Web3 challenges such as exploits, scams, and costly audits. It enables project owners to verify ownership by minting a consensus-based Soulbound NFT through a tiered KYC system, while allowing users to openly review and better understand the projects they interact with. Proudly built by Nuxify, we developed the smart contracts for KYC minting and consensus, APIs that connect the verification system to client applications, blockchain listeners to index and track project status, and a web platform for project onboarding and user discovery.

The Challenge

The Web3 ecosystem is frequently plagued by "rug pulls," smart contract exploits, and a general lack of accountability due to the anonymous nature of blockchain. Project owners often face high barriers to entry for reputable audits, while investors struggle to distinguish between legitimate innovations and sophisticated scams. The core challenges included: - Establishing a verifiable but decentralized identity system that doesn't compromise Web3 principles. - Creating a "trust score" or review mechanism that is resistant to manipulation and sybil attacks. - Bridging the gap between complex on-chain data and an intuitive interface for everyday users to vet projects. - Ensuring the KYC process is tiered and consensus-based to avoid a single point of failure in verification.

The Solution

Nuxify engineered a decentralized verification layer by leveraging Soulbound NFTs (SBTs) to represent non-transferable, permanent proof of KYC. We developed a tiered smart contract system on Solidity that requires consensus for minting, ensuring that project "badges" are earned through a transparent, multi-step process. Our team built high-performance Go-based APIs and custom blockchain listeners to index project statuses in real-time, allowing the SvelteKit web platform to serve as a fast, searchable discovery engine. By integrating a community-driven review module, we turned the platform into a living reputation layer where users can verify project ownership and leave transparent feedback, effectively creating a decentralized alternative to traditional, costly audit firms.
